The School of Journalism has hired Rachel Peterson, MS, as its recruitment specialist. Peterson is responsible for leading student recruitment initiatives for the School of Journalism’s online graduate program in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC).
Prior to joining the IMC administrative team, Peterson was an advising program coordinator for Penn State’s Eberly College of Science Academic Advising Center working with premedicine and science undergraduate students. Previous to that, Peterson worked as an academic adviser in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.
“I saw a bumper sticker today that read ‘find your happy place’ and only having worked for the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) graduate program for a few days it’s easy to glean that I found a happy place, ” Peterson said. “My hope is that prospective students also see this place for what it is—top notch, on the ground and reaching in the skies, innovative graduate programs based online in IMC—a happy place.”
Peterson holds an M.S. in counseling psychology from Frostburg State University (2008) and a B.S. in crime, law, and justice from The Pennsylvania State University (2004).
